Fault Code Diagnosis - Astra GSi
(ENGINE TYPE C20XE)
 
 
The ECU within the Vauxhall Astra has the capability of storing any faults within the electrical system. These faults can be downloaded using the simple procedure outlined below.  

(No responsibilty will be accepted for any damage caused whilst following these destructions, sorry I mean instructions) 
  
   
10-Pin Connector (In fusebox):
 
Connect These two pins together 
 
 

The fault codes are read by counting the number of flashes of the engine check light. For example, a fault code of 31 would be represented by 3 rapid pulses followed by a pause and then 1 pulse followed by a pause.  

When performing this test the first code given will always be Code 12 each code is downloaded three times before moving on to the next.  
When the fault code download is completed Code 12 will be given again.  
If any faults are found check them against the table below and if a test procedure is given, have a look to see if its a simple fault you can fix yourself (My MAP sensor was!).
